BACKGROUND
In my senior year at Cal Poly SLO, I took one of the most advanced courses in my major, Magazine Design Technology. In this course, I produced multiple projects simultaneously, adjusted priorities to meet deadlines, identified the technological changes and advances in the design process of printed magazines, digital magazines, and related publications, and lastly, designed finished layouts that integrated design and text in conjunction with the concepts required, demonstrating a clear understanding of the purpose of the product and target market. The final result was an 10-page magazine composed of a cover, masthead and advertisement, contents page, two editorial content pages, a couple feature spreads, and a back cover full page advertisement.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Spritz is a modern magazine that explores the intersection between eclectic fashion, contemporary culture, and lifestyle. Spritz features a wide variety of artists, companies, and spaces that all spark creativity. Bold and experimental, it offers an intriguing, alternative voice in the creative community. I wrote an article with a peer to feature in my magazine inspired by the early days of quarantine. The article, Love in Lockdown, uncovers the ups and downs of exploring love in lockdown.
